Leading a discussion session on "Meeting the Needs of U.S. Heritage Learners of Less-Commonly-Taught Languages." I will use findings from my research as stimuli, and then I hope to help teachers seek and discuss commonalities across languages in relation to common concerns such as differentiating for heritage and non-heritage learners and addressing the (im)balance of skills - i.e., oracy vs. literacy - that is often observed in heritage learners.
